Closer Analysis of TV Spots - Introduction

TV spots for films are short promotional trailers that typically last around 30 seconds. They are usually released very close to the release date e.g., the week before, and sometimes even the week of. They are usually shown during TV commercials, however they can also be viewed on varies other platforms e.g., YouTube. They tend to have fast editing of various shots from the film and are very engaging, to encourage the audience watch the film. The week of the film release, we are often given multiple different TV spots of different aspects of the film and are usually introduced to new images from the film which wouldn't be included in the other types of trailers. TV spots also include very specific release dates 'This Saturday'.
