Analysing Existing Romantic Comedy Film Names/Titles
I am now going to look at 25 existing romantic comedy film titles in order to help me decide the title for my film based on what romantic comedy titles are typically called, and how to choose them.
After analysing 25 existing romantic comedy film names I have found that the following common features frequently occur:
- References to marriage or protagonists getting together and developing their relationship further e.g., 'The Proposal', 'Bridesmaids', 'Meet the Parents', 'The Perfect Date', 'Love Wedding Repeat'
- References to love e.g., 'To All the Boys I've Loved Before', 'Valentine's Day', 'Purple Hearts', 'Love Wedding Repeat'
- Most of the titles are short e.g., 'The Layover', 'Bridesmaids', 'Knocked Up', 'Pretty Woman'
- What brought them together e.g., 'The Kissing Booth', 'Ticket to Paradise', 'The Layover', 'Overboard'
- Clear reference to gender e.g., 'To All the Boys I've Loved Before', 'Bridesmaids', 'She's All That', 'How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days', 'The First Daughter', 'The Perfect Man', 'Pretty Woman'
- Some of the films hint at the negative side of relationships e.g., '10 Things I Hate About You, 'How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days', 'Knocked Up', 'No Strings Attached'
